John manages First Advantage Litigation Consulting’s European computer forensics team and is responsible for the technical and forensic aspects of all European projects. He frequently consults with clients to map out data collections, ensuring that any potential issues are addressed, and contributes to the ongoing development of bespoke forensic and eDisclosure software solutions.
Prior to joining First Advantage, John worked as a forensic investigator and IT Security Consultant for Control Risks, serving law firms, blue chip corporations and the police. He got his start in the field as a Computer Forensics Investigator with the Sussex police, and previously spent seven years as software developer creating bespoke software for large telecom companies.
John’s experience spans hundreds of computer investigations ranging from large-scale multi-jurisdictional projects to the examination of an individual’s computer for evidence of a specific crime. His involvement has led to satisfactory outcomes for clients in a wide range of cases, including murder, IP theft, harassment, child pornography, missing persons, and others. In one extremely time-sensitive and high-pressure situation, his work led to a missing 12-year-old girl being found in an internet café.
John has a Bachelor of Engineering (honours) degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Sussex University. He is based in our London office.
